From career pause to professional authority, using writing as a launchpad for impact.
Awunli Eghosasere’s journey proves that career paths aren’t always linear. After a five-year pause as a stay-at-home mom, she returned to the professional world and today serves as Director of Finance at the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGOs) while founding HapiWify Solutions, a social impact initiative empowering women across Africa.
Her story is about career pivots, resilience and skill leverage. What began as volunteering and content writing for platforms like She Leads Africa soon became a pathway to leadership. “I learned that a single skill can become a launching pad,” she reflects, “and that a professional stall is not a loss of capability, but a season for recalibration.”
Turning writing into influence
Eghosasere’s early work in content creation taught her critical analytical and communication skills. Writing for international and local platforms, including the Professional Leadership Institute (Canada), The Business Anecdote (UK), Howigotjob (US), BusinessDay Nigeria, and She Leads Africa, positioned her within networks she might not have accessed otherwise and laid the foundation for her thought leadership.
“It was more than just writing,” she says. “It allowed me to synthesise complex business information, understand audiences and step confidently into leadership roles.” Today, these skills underpin both her strategic work at CONGOs and her mission-driven initiatives with HapiWify Solutions.
Impact through clarity and service
As founder of HapiWify Solutions, Eghosasere has influenced over 1,000 women through workshops and digital resources, helping them build confidence, professional clarity and leadership skills. In parallel, she oversees internal operations across multiple NGO projects, combining financial oversight, operational alignment and research-driven content creation.
Her approach is guided by the principle of “Service through Clarity.” By simplifying complex systems and highlighting potential in others, she creates ripple effects that extend far beyond her immediate sphere. “Seeing women unlock their potential and take meaningful steps in their careers is deeply rewarding,” she says.
Eghosasere’s journey shows that career pivots, combined with focused skill development and purposeful action, can reclaim professional authority and create lasting impact. For women navigating gaps, transitions, or career stalls, her story offers a practical blueprint for leveraging experience, skill and determination to build influence and purpose-driven leadership.
